School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML)

The school specialized in field related to the environment

  • Vision: To provide a conducive and dynamic environment for knowledge management through transformations of academic agenda, value proposition and resources.
  • In line with the vision, STML has developed a framework that involves workforce, process, and management system. This framework has become a guideline for academics, research, publication and consultation in STML.
  • Besides, STML also has an elective course (Environmental Management and Engineering) which discusses and explains the problem of environmental pollution and environmental management principles.
  • This model was developed by SIG AgroBisnis (refer Zakirah, et al. (2013), Management of Sustainable Agriculture in Rural Area: A Case of Agropolitan Project in an Abandoned Area, PERKEM VIII Proceedings). The purpose of this model is as a framework of action to stakeholders in the agriculture sector to adopt the concept of systematic sustainable agriculture focusing on organic rice based on "System of Rice Intensification" technique.
  • This research has resulted in a variety of research projects, publications, consultancy, cooperation with domestic and foreign agencies, and innovation within and outside the country.
  • This model was developed by SIG Energy & Environmental. The purpose of this model is to estimate the value of marine parks in Malaysia in terms of biodiversity. The value is the indicator of the conservation level of the marine parks and helps raise awareness about the importance of preserving marine parks by all "stakeholders" including each State that has a gazetted marine park.

Model "Total Economic Evaluation" - MPAs in Malaysia

  • There are THREE TEV models developed, namely Pulau Payar (Kedah)-2011/2012, Pulau Redang (Terengganu)-2012/2013 and Pulau Tioman (Pahang) -2013/2014. Whereas the FOURTH model for Pulau Tinggi is being developed this year.
  • This research has resulted in publication, cooperation with the Department of Marine Park Malaysia (HQ and State), IPTA (in the field of marine science and oceanography) and several other government agencies and presented a paper at a seminar organised by the DMPM.

  • This model was developed by SIG Energy & Environmental. The purpose of this model is to measure the effectiveness of the management of marine parks in Malaysia. This measure is to assist the management of the DMPM to view, monitor and improve the department internal and external service quality.

"Management Effectiveness" and MEAT Model - MPAs Malaysia

  • This model was developed by SIG Energy & Environmental. The purpose of this model is to measure the effectiveness of the management of marine parks in Malaysia. This measure is to assist the management of the DMPM to view, monitor and improve the department internal and external service quality.
