UUM SET TO ENSURE THE STATE AGENDA CAN BE IMPLEMENTED FOR THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF KEDAH

The expertise possess by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) will hopefully ensure that the agenda of the state of Kedah is successfully carried out for the benefit and welfare of its people. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani said, UUM being an institution that  possess experts in various fields would be  able to help the people in this state in terms of knowledge, economy and social well-being.

"The things we can do for this state will definitely be of help and should be done in the best possible way regardless of the beliefs of the people. It has become the obligation of UUM as the largest public university in Kedah to ensure the state agenda can be implemented for the people of Kedah.

"Therefore, UUM created the programme called 1 School 1 District (1S1D) where each and every district in the state of Kedah that has been identified in the complete database using block chain will be assisted in terms of community development. At the moment, the university is actively establishing a Centre for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with the aim of disseminating knowledge in the respective fields to all levels, especially the grassroots," he said at a meeting with the Commissioner of Kedah PAS, Senator Ahmad Yahaya at the Vice- Chancellor's Meeting Room recently.

The Vice-Chancellor said it was time for this university to explore the world of science in fact the university must also conduct research that can be utilized. He further reiterated that despite the many funds being allocated for that purpose, none of the research products can be made use of.

At the meeting, he also presented a study offer letter to Senator Ahmad Yahaya who will be pursuing his studies at the Master level in Political Science.
