UUM ONLINE: The provision of the 1Malaysia electric bicycles (SER1M) to the various Centres of Authority (PTJ) and Student Residences (Inasis) is expected to greatly help generate more income for the university.

The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, said that the electric bicycles, or Sikal Elektrik Rakyat 1Malaysia (SER1M), could be used to help the university generate wealth through their sale, or rental, to students at a set price, or schedule of rental rates, respectively.

SoIS ONLINE – Health and green aspects are two important features in the development of a good working environment. Taking the two aspects in consideration, SoIS through its Welfare and Recreation Club started its 60th Independence Celebration 2017 activities with Zumba, a fitness activity which attracted not only its staff but also the participation of staff from other departments in UUM. This health-care program is one of the key activities that is often held to enhance the fitness and create team spirit among its staff.

JOHAR BAHRU - Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) menjadi institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT) keempat menerima Electric Pedal Assisted Bicycle (EPAB).

Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air, Datuk Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang berkata, sebanyak 200 basikal eletrik diterima UTM menerusi program Sikal Elektrik Rakyat 1Malaysia (SER1M).

MALAYSIA AIM TO BECOME MARKETING HUB FOR EV BY 2030

JOHOR BAHRU - Malaysia is expected to become the marketing hib for electric vehicles (EV) by 2030, which is the country's main target under the national Electric Mobility Blueprint (EMB).

Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang said the plan, which is part of the ministry's initiatives, focused on three main sector, namely EV development for transport and private ownership, EV ecosystem and EV economy.

PAP ONLINE: Seramai 40 orang pelajar Tingkatan 4 beserta 4 orang guru pengiring daripada SMK Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani, Kedah telah memilih UUM sebagai lokasi lawatan akademik pada 03 Ogos 2017 lalu. 

Menurut Cikgu Muhammad Tarmizi, guru Kaunselor SMK Aman Jaya,   pelajar yang mengikuti lawatan akademik adalah pelajar-pelajar yang mempunyai minat untuk mengetahui dengan lebih mendalam tentang syarat kemasukan ke Program Asasi Pengurusan UUM selain untuk melihat persekitaran pembelajaran yang selesa sesuai dengan tag line UUM “Universiti di Rimba Hijau’.

VICE-CHANCELLOR INSPECTS UUM CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT AND BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS

UUM ONLINE:The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, went on a walkabout around UUM, last Thursday, to inspect several locations where development projects were in progress.

Among the locations he visited were the sites of the grilled fish (ikan bakar) restaurant project and the edutourism mini zoo project.

The Vice-Chancellor stated that, when the grilled fish restaurant development project was completed, it would be another addition to the newest attractions at UUM and that it would indirectly help generate income for the university and go on to become a hub of tourism in the state of Kedah.

PELAKSANAAN program penyelidikan dan pembangunan (R&D) adalah bagi menyokong aktiviti penyelidikan, pembangunan dan inovasi (R,D&I) kerajaan yang telah menyediakan pelbagai jenis dana bagi menyokong setiap fasa pelaksanaan R&D dan pengkomersialan  (R,D&C) dalam ekosistem pengkomersialan negara.

Sebagai tambahan kepada sokongan dana kerajaan juga menyediakan pelbagai kemudahan fizikal dan khidmat nasihat seperti pusat inkubasi, infrastruktur, bantuan pemasaran dan audit teknologi yang disediakan oleh pelbagai agensi berkaitan.

BASIKAL ELEKTRIK DI KAMPUS

Pelbagai langkah diambil kerajaan mahupun pihak universiti bagi memastikan pewujudan suasana kondusif untuk pengajian tinggi, khususnya usaha mengurangkan pencemaran udara akibat pelepasan asap kenderaan di dalam kawasan kampus.

Bertepatan agenda itu, Kementerian Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air (KeTTHA) memperuntukkan RM4 juta bagi menggalakkan penggunaan basikal elektrik di kampus menerusi program Sikal Elektrik Rakyat 1Malaysia (SER1M) tahun ini.

Melalui program itu yang akan dijalankan oleh Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (MGTC), enam universiti terpilih menerima masing-masing 200 unit Basikal Berbentukan Pedal Elektrik (EPAB).

RECYCLING COCONUT SHELLS

DISCARDED coconut shells caught the attention of a froup of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) students in Kedah, promoting them to take the initiative to recycle them as charcoal.

UUM Co and Coal project director Ho Chia Chen, 23, said coconut shells were usually thrown away indiscriminately due to a lack of proper disposal.
