O BIKE PUPUK GAYA HIDUP SIHAT

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), baru-baru ini ditawarkan perkhidmatan perkongsian basikal atau lebih dikenali sebagai 'o Bike' yang sedikit sebanyak mengubah suasana di kampus. O Bike adalah perkhidmatan perkongsian sewa basikal tanpa stesen yang kebiasaannya perkhidmatan perkongsian basikal ini akan berada di bandar besar seperti Kuala Lumpur.

Seorang pelajar Ijazah Sarjana Muda Komunikasi, Muhammad Asri Mohamed @ Abdul Rahim berkata, kewujudan o Bike di UUM merupakan satu langkah yang amat bagus. “Kedatangan o Bike ke UUM, secara tidak langsung menjayakan tagline UUM sebagai Universiti di Rimba Hijau yang dikelilingi flora dan fauna,” katanya.

Ketibaan kami disambut pemandangan sawah menghijau, malah teruja berpeluang memancing ikan menggunakan buluh, mandi-manda di sungai dan mengepung itik di bendang. Saat itu suka menyeronokkan.

Musibah banjir kilat yang melanda Pulau Pinang baru-baru ini sehingga meragut tujuh nyawa dianggap bencana alam terburuk yang pernah berlaku di negeri tersebut. Malangnya dalam keghairahan pelbagai pihak berganding bahu membantu mangsa yang terlibat, masih wujud ‘pengulas siaran’ tidak berbayar yang cuba mempertikaikan segala bentuk bantuan yang dihulurkan.

UUM ONLINE: 19 November - The TISSA-UUM Edu-Charity Nite Run 2017 (TECHERun 2017) received an overwhelming response when it attracted 1,400 participants to take part last night at the UUM Sports Centre. The two categories contested in the TECHERun 2017 were the 10 km Competitive Run which attracted 300 people and the Fun Run (5 km) which was open to students and the outside communities.

Tan Sri Dato' Paduka Dr. Fng Ah Seng, who was the sponsor of the Platinum TECHERun 2017, said the charity run organised by the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School (TISSA-UUM) was held in conjunction with UUM's 30th Convocation Ceremony to raise funds and assist in students' activities and welfare as well as to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) berjaya menghasilkan arang dari tempurung kelapa menerusi projek Co & Coal sekali gus mengurangkan lambakan bahan buangan tempurung kelapa yang mencecah 80,000 tan setahun dalam negara.

Pasukan Enactus dari Institut Pembangunan Keusahawanan dan Koperasi (CEDI) UUM itu mendapat idea pada tahun 2014 selepas melihat pembaziran tempurung kelapa di kawasan Kedah lalu memberi inspirasi kepada pasukan berkenaan.

THE 1MALAYSIA ELECTRIC BICYCLE (SER1M) TO HELP IN GENERATING INCOME FOR THE UNIVERSITY

UUM ONLINE: The provision of the 1Malaysia electric bicycles (SER1M) to the various Centres of Authority (PTJ) and Student Residences (Inasis) is expected to greatly help generate more income for the university.

The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, said that the electric bicycles, or Sikal Elektrik Rakyat 1Malaysia (SER1M), could be used to help the university generate wealth through their sale, or rental, to students at a set price, or schedule of rental rates, respectively.

SoIS INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION BEGINS WITH ZUMBA AND GO GREEN II ACTIVITIES

SoIS ONLINE – Health and green aspects are two important features in the development of a good working environment. Taking the two aspects in consideration, SoIS through its Welfare and Recreation Club started its 60th Independence Celebration 2017 activities with Zumba, a fitness activity which attracted not only its staff but also the participation of staff from other departments in UUM. This health-care program is one of the key activities that is often held to enhance the fitness and create team spirit among its staff.

JOHAR BAHRU - Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) menjadi institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT) keempat menerima Electric Pedal Assisted Bicycle (EPAB).

Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air, Datuk Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang berkata, sebanyak 200 basikal eletrik diterima UTM menerusi program Sikal Elektrik Rakyat 1Malaysia (SER1M).

MALAYSIA AIM TO BECOME MARKETING HUB FOR EV BY 2030

JOHOR BAHRU - Malaysia is expected to become the marketing hib for electric vehicles (EV) by 2030, which is the country's main target under the national Electric Mobility Blueprint (EMB).

Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang said the plan, which is part of the ministry's initiatives, focused on three main sector, namely EV development for transport and private ownership, EV ecosystem and EV economy.
