RESEARCH ENTITLED "INNOVATION IN GREEN MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY CASE IN RURAL AREA AL LOVELY FARM" WON AT ITEX 2012
17 May 2012 - School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML), has created history in the ITEX 2012 when it won the gold medal through research entitled "Innovation in Green Management Technology Case in Rural Area al Lovely Farm". ITEX 2012 is the 23rdInvention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, which took place in Kuala Lumpur on 17 to 19 May 2012.
This victory was earned through one of the SIGs in STML namely Agro-Business SIG participated by Dr. Kamal Ab. Hamid, Dr. Siti Norezam Othman, Dr. NoorulsadiqinAzbiya Yaacob, Mdm. Zakirah Othman and Dr. Norani Nordin who had successfully introduced organic rice cultivation using 'System of Rice Intensification (SRI)' conducted in Ladang Lovely KampungLintang, Sik. Innovation done in collaboration with KEDA and Belantik Corporation which emphases green management technology has been able to increase rice production to 3 fold compared to the traditional system used over the years.
The Dean of STML, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Mohamed Udin congratulated Agro Business SIG on the victory. This success has also simultaneously enhanced the image of UUM as the Eminent Management University.
