HELP THE VILLAGERS IN FARMING, CREATE ECO-FRIENDLY FERTILIZERS

UUM ONLINE 21 March 2014: Recently School of Technology Management & Logistics (STML) and Agro Belantik Corporation Sik Berhad in collaboration with Uniutama Education and Consultancy SdnBhd (UEC) organised a workshop on Sustainable Agriculture Management I and II at Sri Lovely Farm, Sik, Kedah.

According to the Dean of STML, Assoc. Prof Dr Zulkifli Mohamed Udin, this workshop was held to help the women farmers and small entrepreneurs in the State of Perlis to learn the method of manufacturing fertilizer, rice cultivation and vegetables organically.He further added that participants also had the opportunity to experience and try the innovative method of rice cultivation technique, System of Rice Intensification (SRI).

The 3-day workshop was led by the Deputy Chairman of the Agro-business Strategic Initiative Group (SIG) STML, Dr Kamal Abd Hamid and Chairman of Agro BelantikCorporation Sik, Kedah, Zakaria Kamantasha. Also attended the workshop were lecturers from STML, Noor Hidayah Abu, Nurul Azita Salleh, Kamaruddin Radzuan and Mohamad Faizal Ahmad Zaidi as facilitators.
