SECOND ACADEMIA LOUNGE THEMED 'RESORT IN A FOREST' SET TO BE DEVELOPED

UUM ONLINE 25 January 2015: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) second Academia Lounge is set to be developed near the Cluster 6 Lecture Hall (DKG6), School of Multimedia and Communication Technology (SMMTC).

As such, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Wira Dr. Mohamed Mustafa visited the site where the second Academia Lounge will be established soon.

During the site visit, the Vice-Chancellor was briefed on the development of the planned dining room by UUM architect, Mr. Ismadi Yaacob and civil engineer, Mr. Hazlan Abd Rahman from the Development and Maintenance Department (JPP). 

The Vice-Chancellor also put forth the idea of establishing the second Academia Lounge with the concept of ‘resort in the forest’ which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Established in 2012, the Academia Lounge which was inspired and the brainchild of Prof. Dato' Wira Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, is currently operating within the vicinity of the College of Business (COB).  The lounge offers fellow academicians a venue to meet and discuss matters concerning academic and research activities in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor on the site visit to the second Academia Lounge was the Director of the Chancellery, Mr. Ahmad Rasidi Abdullah.
